BMW nbsp; Mods.

For most newer BMWs, the greatest horsepower gain per dollar is through a performance software upgrade. There are a variety of retailers out there who offer software downloads to increase power and torque and also usually remove the topspeed limiter and raise the redline. For BMWs manufactured after 1996 in the US this is critical. Until the software is upgraded, an intake or performance exhaust will not result in any performance gains.

After the software upgrade, then I would go with a BMW air intake to get more air and cooler oxygen into the engine. These are usually fairly simple to install.

Once these steps are complete, then consider a performance exhaust. This will result in less back pressure, more horsepower and a louder exhaust note. Brands like UUC, Remus, and Borla are highly recommended BMW upgrades and can be found at most BMW parts retailers. Do some homework to ensure you are buying from a supplier that is able to provide you the best recommendation for your exact model of car. Getting the right part the first time, before you install it, will ensure yo get the horsepower gains you desire.

Each of these performance mods is easily reversible and will maximize the driving enjoyment of your BMW. Please ensure you follow the local and state laws where you live for modifying your BMW.
